Here I am sitting in my office @ night, thinking hard about life

How it changed from maverick college life to strict professional life.

How tiny pocket money changed to huge monthly pay checks,

But then why it gives less happiness.

How a few local denim jeans changed to new branded one,

But then why there are less people to use them.

How a single plate of samosa changed to a full pizza or burger,

But then why there is less hunger.

Here I am sitting in my office @ night, thinking hard about life.

How a bike always in reserve changed to main,

But then why there are fewer places to go.

How a limited prepaid card changed to post paid package,

But then why there are fewer calls and more messages.

Here I am sitting in my office @ night, thinking hard about life.

How an old assembled desk top changed to a branded laptop,

But then why there is less time to put it on.

How a small bunch of friends changed to office mates,

But then why we always feel lonely and miss those collage friends,

I'ts Time

    The right and the wrong holding hands of time

    Stand together greeting all with a smile

    Young and restless, the wrong is dressed to kill

    Old and wise, the right is hiding in disguise

    Time goes on but nothing seems to change

    Standing together they are neither enemy nor friends

    People so ignorant often are tempted by the wrong

    The right questions then what have I done wrong

    Hoping that someone will stop by to hold his hand

    Happiness and sorrow are hiding behind them

    No one says a word, the hide and seek goes on

    Life is surely simple but not easy says time

    Have offered you my best and my worst

    Choose well my friend while there is still time

She Has My Heart

She looks me straight in the eyes and rips out my heart

I’m speechless there’s nothing I can say

Tears begin to well up in my eyes

She asks me if I’m okay

I am far from okay

She says we can still be friend’s best friends

Those words linger in my mind

I never thought I would hear those words

I leave, I close off, and the pain is too much to bear

I can't help the loneliness I've turned my back on everyone even God

I'm alone all alone

I cry myself to sleep

I'm lost to the world I have this emptiness inside one that i can't fill

I still cry I don't know when the days come and go

I only seem to sink deeper into depression

I used to be so alive, so carefree

Ii guess I still am carefree because I don't seem to care anymore

I have this emptiness inside one that I try to fill but with all the wrong things

I cry out to God asking Him why, why all this hurt why all this pain

He tells me why

He told me once before but my heart was too hard to listen and now in my moment of brokenness I can finally hear

I can hear Him; my days begin to get brighter

I try to keep my heart soft so that I can hear

It's harder than I thought but I don't give up

I  feel alone but I know that I’m not

I still have that darkness inside inside my heart it tries to pull me back but I won't let it

Ii ask God for help for someone to help me

He shows me I never thought it would be her ever since I first met her

She has had it, a piece of my heart ,she talks to me her voice soothes me it brings me comfort

We talk

We laugh

I hardly even notice anymore that the darkness has faded

I thank God for his help

I  thank God for her

She won't let me fall fall to where I was before

I am happy now

She listens to me, I listen to her

I  hold her tightly and I don’t let go

She is a part of my life

She is a part of me

She has my heart

Only this time I gave it to her

Happy Independence Day - INDyeah!!

The midnight of August 15, 1947 is memorable for every Indian on earth, as it is the time, when India gained independence from the stranglehold of the mighty British. The otherwise suppressed tri-colored flag of India was given its due respect, when it was hoisted in the midnight on the Independence Day. Since then, the red-letter day is celebrated with pomp and gaiety, across the length and breadth of India. Cultural programs and flag-hoisting ceremonies are the predominant affair of the day, while colorful kites fill the sky in the evening, to symbolize freedom. People indulge themselves in remembering the heroes of the freedom struggle and pay homage to them.

In all the schools and colleges across India, no academic work is done on Independence Day, but all the students and staff members would be present in their respective educational institutions, to celebrate the day. A sort of social gathering is arranged in the educations institutions, wherein cultural programs are organized. Flag hoisting ceremony takes place within their respective premises. As the flag is hoisted by the head of the institution (mostly the principal), students sing national anthem and pay respect to their flag and to uphold the sovereignty of the country.

Students and teachers celebrate the day at their respective educational institutions, while others back home spend the day either by going for an outing or watching special programs on television. Majority of the people tune in to Doordarshan in the morning, to watch the live telecast of Prime Minister's speech at the Red Fort in Delhi, as it is the major highlight of the Independence Day of India. Prime Minister's speech and patriotic songs and documentaries showing excerpts from the freedom struggle are aired on the national channels, while the private television channels make it a point that their viewers are amused all through the day. Hence, they telecast cultural programs, movies related to independence, apart from the patriotic songs that regenerate the hidden patriotism in people.

Shops across India are strictly directed to keep their shutters down on Independence Day, while you can still spot the groceries and small stores opening up late in the evening. All government offices remain closed on August 15. India Gate is the center of attraction and a nice place to hang out in the evening of Independence Day, as the structure is attractively illuminated. The sky in filled with kites of various shapes and colors. As a whole, it can be said that Independence Day is a holiday much awaited by people in India, every year.

Recipe for a Happy New Year

Take twelve fine, full-grown months; see that these are thoroughly free from old memories of bitterness, rancor and hate, cleanse them completely from every clinging spite; pick off all specks of pettiness and littleness; in short, see that these months are freed from all the past—have them fresh and clean as when they first came from the great storehouse of Time. 

Cut these months into thirty or thirty-one equal parts. Do not attempt to make up the whole batch at one time (so many persons spoil the entire lot this way) but prepare one day at a time. Into each day put equal parts of faith, patience, courage, work (some people omit this ingredient and so spoil the flavor of the rest), hope, fidelity, liberality, kindness, rest (leaving this out is like leaving the oil out of the salad dressing— don’t do it), prayer, meditation, and one well-selected resolution. Put in about one teaspoonful of good spirits, a dash of fun, a pinch of folly, a sprinkling of play, and a heaping cupful of good humor.

Love Vs Like

In front of the person you love, your heart beats faster

But, in front of the person you like, you get happy.
